International Yoga Day Celebrated at SLG Hospitals

Hyderabad, June 22th 2026:  Emphasizing the vital role of Yoga in achieving mental peace and physical fitness amid modern lifestyles, Ajinkya D.Y. Patil Healthcare-SLG Hospitals celebrated International Yoga Day with great fervor on its premises here on Saturday.

 

The theme for this year’s celebrations was “Yoga for Harmony, Health, and Happiness.”The event commenced at 7:00 AM in a serene outdoor setting within the hospital campus. More than 290 participants, including hospital staff, doctors, students, and health enthusiasts, took part in the session.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Dandu Shiva Rama Raju, Chairman of SLG Hospitals, urged everyone to embrace Yoga. “Yoga originated thousands of years ago. While it continues to be practiced in its traditional form, nations across the globe have significantly evolved and popularized it. Regular practice of Yoga greatly improves overall health,” Sri. Raju said.

 

Sharing his personal routine, the 75-year-old Chairman added, “I practice Yoga, exercise, and meditation every single day. Combining this with a balanced diet, healthy eating habits, and a minimum of 45 minutes of morning walk can keep major health ailments at bay.”

 

The participants practiced various asanas (postures) and pranayamas (breathing exercises) under the guidance of certified Yoga instructors, including Sridevi, Srihari, V. Chalapathi, and Santosh Kumar Mahapatra. The experts demonstrated the correct techniques and highlighted the psychological and physiological benefits of the ancient practice, encouraging everyone to integrate Yoga into their daily routines.

 

The event concluded with the participants taking a pledge to adopt a healthier lifestyle through regular Yoga practice.
